ANOTHER set of the SAME...!!

Science has transformed the way we live and has given us
more than we could ever dreamt of. The scientific discoveries represent one of the most important gifts we could ever receive, since they improved our way of living, allowing us to really enjoy the life on planet earth. What are the most important scientific discoveries ever? The next 10 scientific breakthroughs are probably the most important for humanity.
1. DNA: also called the Deoxyribonucleic Acid. This extended map of the human gene helped the doctors to learn more about the human body and to develop complex treatments for diabetes and other diseases. DNA was discovered by Rosalind Franklin, a famous molecular biologist who lived in London in the early 1900′s.
2. Electricity: without it you wouldn’t be able to read this list of top 10 scientific discoveries. We should all thank Benjamin Franklin for that.
3. Anesthesia: imagine what would happen if you would be awake for an entire surgical procedure. Anesthesia was invented by Oliver Wendell Holmes in 1846.
4. Light bulb: today this invention became as common as a slice of toast. Because of Thomas Edison’s perseverance back in 1879, we can now enjoy the daylight even at night.
5. Fingerprints: this discovery is used anywhere on the planet by the police.
6. Penicillin: this drug was accidentally discovered by Dr. Alexander Fleming in the beginning of the previous century.
7. Computer: many consider it one of the most important invention. Without a computer, there wouldn’t have been Internet and without the Internet the way we live today would be very different.
8. Radio waves: they were discovered by Heinrich Hertz in 1888.
9 Invisibility cloak: this is a modern scientific discovery that hit the headlines recently. The studies showed that the light can bend around an object to make it invisible. Its applications are endless.
10. The Large Hadron Collider: the world’s largest particle accelerator. The machine is now shut down due to a malfunction, but it is planned to be reused in 2014. Many hope that this particle accelerator might help us travel in space, but it remains to be seen.
